Representatives of the agrarian sector of Belarus organized the educational trip from organic agriculture in Ukraine. The purpose was to learn how organic agriculture functions and develops in the neighboring country. The trip was organized by Center for environmental solutions is a non – profit organization that for more than five years actively promoting organic agriculture in Belarus.
-We went to Ukraine not by chance. First thoughts were to organize a visit to Switzerland or Germany – those countries that are leaders in the production of organic products. However, the development of the organic market in these countries reaches decades, moreover, there are very different economic and social conditions. And the example of Ukraine can be very interesting for the Belarusians. I would like to show our experts, how they did it, – said the organizer of the educational tour, specialist for organic agriculture Center for environmental solutions Lubomir Klepach.
The educational visit has been specially planned so that participants were able not only to form a shared conceptual understanding of the functioning of the Ukrainian system of organic agriculture, but also to get acquainted with the practical side.
The participants went to one of the largest and successful enterprises for the production of organic dairy products in Ukraine – the company “Organic Milk”. (03.11.2016)
The Director of the company Elena Stretovych shared his story of success. She said that at first the management did not seek to strive for high economic performance, the main thing was to achieve a high product quality due to organic technology; to change the mindset of employees; the philosophy of production. And then the product began to work on itself: the profit started to increase. At first it was necessary to search suppliers and to explain why the organic products are better than the ordinary, and now the partners themselves ask for supplies, offer to organize the export of products to other countries. So,for example, the “Organic Milk” products appeared in Dubai.
After a small tasting of “Organic Milk” products , the participants went to a dairy farm, partner company “Galeks-Agro”, from which the milk enters to the factory.
On an organic farm the Belarusians could see what’s the difference between the organization of organic production and ordinary.
